We have seen the evidence that North America, and the U.S. specifically, is quickly becoming post-Christian.
Many of these young people see the church as a dead, empty tradition of the past – irrelevant to their daily life. They have negative misconceptions about who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him. As a result, they are apathetic, cynical, and even hostile towards Christianity.
To make matters worse, a recently released Barna study found that 47% of Christian Millennials believe it is wrong to share their faith with others.
How can we reach our kids and grandkids who have walked away from the church?
STEIGER CITY TEAMS
A Steiger City Team mobilizes followers of Jesus to reach young people who would not otherwise walk into a church. It is a powerful catalytic force that can unify and mobilize the Church to transform an entire city.
Since launching the North America City Team Expansion last year, we’ve begun pioneering teams in Twin Cities, Denver, and Houston, and we’ve already seen some of the fruit!
In our experience, when young people are engaged in conversation by people within their scene, speaking their cultural language, they are often eager to talk about issues of faith! One Barna study even found that 53% of Millennial non-Christians said they’d be willing to explore the Christian faith if it was one-on-one with someone who is a Christian.

OUR VISION IS TO ESTABLISH 20 STEIGER CITY TEAMS IN NORTH AMERICA BY THE YEAR 2025!
The objective of a Steiger City team is four-fold:
1. Equip and unify the local church to effectively reach secularized culture in their communities.
2. Raise up the next generation of Christian leaders and influencers to impact our secularized culture
3. Transform the culture by being relationally present and engaging in bold, creative evangelism in the secular scene
4. Multiply the impact by fostering a culture of “disciples who make disciples, who make disciples”
